This is one trip I am more than grateful I had the opportunity to go on. It literally happened in less than a month and a half.
I remember a few months ago I was watching some of my favourite Beauty YouTubers vlog their experience at The Atlantis& thinking how cool it would be to go there. Who knew that a few months later I would be sitting here blogging about my week on Paradise Island.

The morning of my trip I had to wake up at 5AM because my ride to the airport had school at 8AM. Luckily for me my mom sat with me in the airport until I was ready to go to the departure lounge.
It felt like my flight took forever to board! Once I got on the plane, however, I was more than ready to start my adventure.
The journey to Nassau was smooth & I have to give thanks to Caribbean Airlines for their exceptional service. The only issue I had with my flight was that one particular stewardess was not very friendly especially to the lady sitting beside me. I don’t know if she was having a bad morning or what.
The Lynden Pindling Airport was massive! I felt like I was walking FOREVER to the Immigration desk.
I know Jamaica Carnival ended more than a month ago but I had so much work on my plate, I didn’t have the time to really sit down & do my experience justice in a blog post. Finally, my work load has eased & I am able to share the joy that was my Carnival Week!
The word Carnival is what sold me on subscribing to my first Sugarplum box. I don’t even remember how I actually discovered this service but I am so glad I did. I am also very happy that my first subscription box EVER was Caribbean based.
This box was a collaboration between Sugarplum box (which based is Jamaica) & TabancaBox (which is based in Trinidad & Tobago).
I ordered my box in February & was given a month to pay. After payments delivery was done about 2 week after (only because of the long holiday weekend).
Prior to delivery, I received email updates about the status of my delivery.
Delivery was very easy! The box was literally delivered at my office door.
Now to my box! Unfortunately I didn’t remember to snap a pic with my box but I was just too excited to open it.
It’s Bacchanal in January! Usually I wait until the launch of Bacchanal Friday but since I declared this year my “Carnival Year,” I decided that I wanted to be there from the start. I also, wanted to scope out the costumes seeing that I am interested in playing Pretty Mas this year.
I wasted no time when the early bird tickets were released, I asked a friend to swing by Mas Camp a day before the early bird was originally scheduled to end.
As usual my Friday work day was eventful so I was a bit stressed/tired by the time I went home but I was looking forward to hearing some good soca music & seeing some pretty costumes.
Once I got to the parking lot, I was already in a Merry mood!
On entry to Mas Camp I received so many goodies I didn’t expect to even get. I got a Smirnoff mason jar, a Heineken cup, tiaras & beads.
About a month ago, my friend in SXM posted a flyer for an event in Anguillawhich was going to be headlined by Mr. Soca himself Machel Montano! Immediately my heart sank, because I knew I wouldn’t have the time or money to sort out making the trip to Anguilla.
You see I have never had the opportunity to see the King of Soca perform live. I have seen him at Jouvert in Jamaica but never ever seen him live & direct.
As faith would have it the genius promoters of Appleton Dream Weekend billed Mr. Double M as the headliner for their Dream Jouvert!
