On September 10, 2016, my friends & I took a little road trip to Spanish Town…here is our adventure…
It has been awhile since I did a DIY & I had so much fun with this one. This DIY was inspired by Sharifa Creates A Little Box of Hope post & Tishan Lee’s presentation at the We Inspire Women Workshop (Part 1, Part 2).
I had a gratitude journal before but unfortunately life happened & I didn’t really follow through with it. I think the main reason I fell off was because it was a book & it ended up amongst all my other books until one day it was eventually forgotten.
After reading Sharifa’s blog post though it dawned on me that writing down at least one thing I’m grateful for & storing it in a jar or box may be the best way for me to keep a gratitude journal.
I had so much fun making it & I am elated to share it so here we go!
What you need
- Empty Jar (Glass or Plastic)
- Baby Wipes
- Hot Glue Gun/Krazy Glue/A Heavy Duty Glue
- Scissors/other sharp object
I love attending brunches but I never know what to wear! This one was no different! Luckily for me, Mom saved the day.
It is with great pleasure that I share some of the lessons I learned at the We Inspire Women Weekend. The event greatly exceeded my expectations.
I can’t exactly remember but I think it was a friend who sent me the Instagram link to this event; almost immediately, I sent an email to the organizers as per the instruction on the Instagram page.
I never thought I would have made it past day 2 much less make it to day 31.
This challenge was amazing! It forced me to connect with the side of blogging that got me started.
I had good days & not so good ones but I have no regrets. It was a well needed challenge & I look forward to embarking on another one soon.
Portland is known for its natural & tranquil beauty. I’ve been going to Portland ever since I was a child to visit my family & all those years I hated it! It wasn’t until I became an adult that I began to appreciate how lucky I was to have roots in this tranquil haven.
Now that I am older & my great grandmother has passed unfortunately the trips are less. When my bestie decided that she wanted to go to Reach Falls for her birthday celebration at the end of July, I was more than elated!
I did nothing exceptional when I was getting ready this morning, however, I seem to be attracting a little more attention than I am used to.
Today I decided to try something a little different with my Dry Land Tourist Chronicles post.
Jamaica, much like her people, is very diverse. There is more to her than sand, sun, sea, reggae & weed. She has a rich history that I hope to do justice & present to you my readers.
I have been to the Jamaica Conference Centre many a times but I never really looked at it & saw the work of art it truly is.
A few months ago I had a meeting there that started a little late, so I passed the time by exploring the Jamaica Conference Centre many
A Little History….
Located on the picturesque Kingston Waterfront, the Jamaica Conference Centre was built in 1982 as the venue for the preparatory meetings of the International Seabed Authority, an arm of the United Nations. The Centre was built to United Nations specifications and its facilities and services rival the best.
It was constructed by the UDC in the record time of 12 months in time to host the International Seabed Authority beginning in 1983, in the process, winning the Governor General’s Award.
The Complex houses the Centre, Secretariat Building and a 450 bay multi-storey parking garage.
Here are the pictures I snapped on the visit.
I was sitting innocently at my desk listening to a song I have listened to many times but for some reason today I actually listened to it.
The song is very melodic & captivating so I attribute that to me not really noticing what the hell she was singing about. In the song, her man is obviously in love with someone else even though he is in a relationship with her. What is her solution to this little situation?…drink herself numb.
Sunday is my least favourite day of the week. It’s the day before my mundane routine begins for another five days.
I know I know… *insert all versions of positivity* I have the power to make my day or week spectacular.
