Team Jamaica You Made Me Proud

My heart is full of so much joy right now! I just watched the last of the Track & Field events on the penultimate day of the Rio 2016 Olympics & I am so proud of my little Rock.

Happy Birthday Marcus!

Happy 129th Birthday Marcus!

A great man, a great leader, a champion of the black race.

I could not spend today sharing anything else but information about this visionary.

You don’t have to have a lot to give a little: A Few Back to School Charity Initiatives

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” ― Mahatma Gandhi

Giving back is a huge thing to me. I am by no means rich but I don’t allow that to prevent me from helping others who are less fortunate.

It’s almost back to school time & a few organizations I am affiliated with are doing their best to help a number of children go back to school in September. Check out the flyers & contribute wherever you can.

#DryLandTouristChronicles: Paradise Found…My Week In The Bahamas (Part 1)

This is one trip I am more than grateful I had the opportunity to go on. It literally happened in less than a month and a half.

I remember a few months ago I was watching some of my favourite Beauty YouTubers vlog  their experience at The Atlantis & thinking how cool it would be to go there. Who knew that a few months later I would be sitting here blogging about my week on Paradise Island.

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016

The morning of my trip I had to wake up at 5AM because my ride to the airport had school at 8AM. Luckily for me my mom sat with me in the airport until I was ready to go to the departure lounge.

It felt like my flight took forever to board! Once I got on the plane, however, I was more than ready to start my adventure.

The journey to Nassau was smooth & I have to give thanks to Caribbean Airlines for their exceptional service. The only issue I had with my flight was that one particular stewardess was not very friendly especially to the lady sitting beside me. I don’t know if she was having a bad morning or what

The Lynden Pindling Airport was massive! I felt like I was walking FOREVER to the Immigration desk.

Just landed…can you tell how excited I am?!

#ShannyVal: Carnival in Jamaica (Beach Jouvert)

I know Jamaica Carnival ended more than a month ago but I had so much work on my plate, I didn’t have the time to really sit down & do my experience justice in a blog post. Finally, my work load has eased & I am able to share the joy that was my Carnival Week!

Shanny’s Airport Survival Guide

It has been a week since I returned from my latest trip and while I was at the airport in Nassau I decided that it would be cool to share a few tips on how I survive the airport whenever I am taking a quick trip overseas, especially for shorter flights (under 2 hours).

My Sugarplum Box Experience

The word Carnival is what sold me on subscribing to my first Sugarplum box. I don’t even remember how I actually discovered this service but I am so glad I did. I am also very happy that my first subscription box EVER was Caribbean based.

This box was a collaboration between Sugarplum box (which based is Jamaica) & TabancaBox (which is based in Trinidad & Tobago).

I ordered my box in February & was given a month to pay. After payments delivery was done about 2 week after (only because of the long holiday weekend).

Prior to delivery, I received email updates about the status of my delivery.

Delivery was very easy! The box was literally delivered at my office door.

Now to my box! Unfortunately I didn’t remember to snap a pic with my box but I was just too excited to open it.
