On February 6, I tagged along with my friends to the North Coast for site visits at two hotels.
A quick day trip turned into a love affair with both properties we visited & my beautiful country so I decided to blog about my experience.
Our first stop was Moon Palace Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios. It is one of our newer hotels here in Jamaica. The resort, formerly Sunset Jamaica Grande, is the first Palace Resort in an English Speaking country.
I stayed at the property ages ago when it was just Jamaica Grande & I couldn’t believe that it was the same property. I was pleasantly surprised by the upgrades.
The elegance of the relocated entrance to the property was a preview of what awaited us inside.
The lobby was even more spectacular than the entrance of the property with its pristine marble floor (which continued throughout the property) & intricate light fixtures. They were definite conversation starters.

The views from the rooms that we viewed were also spectacular. Ocho Rios literally looked like a painting.

The interior designers were not to be outdone by the architects & contractors & this was evident because they spared no detail with the decor.

Our tour of the property lasted for 3 hours so of course we were hungry. Luckily for us we were able to have lunch at one of the many restaurants on the property.
My panini was very delicious!
My brief overview does no justice to the property & the pictures on the website is exactly what you get in real life. Please feel free to check out their website here to see all that the hotel has to offer it’s guest (including Jamaica’s Largest Spa!).
Our second & final stop for the day was Royalton White Sands in Trelawny. Formerly, Breezes Trelawny, the property was purchased by Blue Diamond Resorts and transformed into this magnificent resort.

The views from the walkway alone is spectacular. I felt like I was looking at a Post Card! I had to pinch myself.

We were shown 3 categories of rooms, their family suite which was a home away from home; a regular double occupancy room; & finally one of the presidential suites which came with Butler Service & a swim up pool right by the patio.

The property even has its own private island.

All in all the property was magnificent! Even though it was only a 2 hours site visit, the hospitality of the staff was tremendous. When we visited the spa we were given a cold towel (mint scented to add) to cool down before our tour of the facility.
We also dined at the Sports Bar on property. My beef sandwich was delicious & my Pina Colada was perfection.
Royalton White Sands would be the perfect place for a relaxing, fun filled vacation or stay-cation. Please feel free to check out their website here. Again, the pictures on the site look the same in real life.
I spent the majority of the day awestruck by Jamaica’s beauty. From the rolling green hills to the crystal clear azure waters, even the street side vendors just seemed to add to the character of the island. My island home is beautiful & truly a home away from home for many visitors.

Sometimes I forget that I truly live in Paradise. Luckily for me, I have road trips & moments like these to remind me.
Thanks for sharing my road trip adventure with me.
Until Next Trek
