I was blessed with the opportunity to enjoy a free weekend at any Sandals resort in Jamaica thanks to my coworker. He won the weekend in a raffle & gave me the trip as a 30th Birthday gift.
I was lucky enough to be able to get the weekend at my first choice resort which was Sandals Ochi Beach Resort in Ocho Rios, St. Ann. I chose that resort because I remember seeing articles in the local media about its renovation & I was really impressed by the new look.

The day that I was suppose to leave for Ocho Rios did not go as planned. I was suppose to leave work at 2 PM, I didn’t leave until 7 PM. Despite the work day going longer than I expected, I was determined to go on the trip. I was in NEED of the break!
They always say that everything happens for a reason & I believe that this was one day that unfolded the way it was supposed to unfold.
My friend Nicole & I headed to Spanish Town to get a bus or taxi to Ocho Rios which didn’t prove to be as hard as I anticipated.
We arrived at the resort around 9:30 PM. The young lady at the Front Desk was so nice! She encouraged us to get some dinner before the Restaurants closed.
She sent us to The Reef Terrace.

My appetizer was the Island Garden Greens Salad (the last salad I vowed to have all weekend). For my main course, I ordered a nice well done Chargrilled Striploin steak which was exactly what I needed at the end of my work day. Desert was an Island Sampler spread which included a very delicious Pumpkin Cheesecake, Rum Cake & Sweet Potato Pudding.

Saturday morning we got up early to explore the property. First order of the day was breakfast at the Vista Sky Terrace.

I did the usual Pancakes, French Toast, Bacon, Sausages, Fruits & Yogurt with a side of Orange Juice. It was a delicious start to the morning.
Here are some beautiful pictures of the restaurant.

After breakfast we decided to go & explore the property.
The property spanned both sides of the main road. We were staying at the Caribbean Riviera namely the Riviera Beachfront Tower. Across the road was the All-Butler Village & Great House Estate.

The Caribbean Riviera
We started exploring the Beach Front Tower. We found a nice open terrace with ample seating for cosy conversations.

I think the reality of being at this splendid resort hit me at this moment.
Outside the Beach Tower I found this little basket hammock that totally reminded of Conference 2013 in Grand Cayman.
A majority of the property was a no smoking zone, so there were designated areas for smokers to light up. We found one which at first glance I though looked like somewhere you would find on a Hippie Commune which turned out to be a smoking section.

Further exploration lead us to the Amphitheater, a Jacuzzi & another pool.
We then found an amazing little Gazebo next to the Beach Tower which had an amazing view of the Riviera.
Here are a few more beautiful pictures of the Caribbean Riviera:

After we finished exploring the Caribbean Riviera, we decided to head to the All-Butler Village & Great House Estate.
I will take you around the All-Butler Village & Great House Estate in Part 2.
Also, stay tuned for a vlog of the weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!
